Expats in Kuwait Must Pay Telecom Bills Before Traveling

The Interior Ministry of Kuwait has announced that starting from September 6, 2023, expats will be required to pay their telecommunications bills in full before they can be allowed to travel out of the country. The ministry has provided two ways for expats to pay their bills: through the Ministry of Communications website or through the government's Sahel application.

This new requirement is part of the government's efforts to crack down on expats who have outstanding debts. The ministry has said that this will help to ensure that all expats are paying their fair share of taxes and fees.

The Interior Ministry of Kuwait has announced that it will be joining the traffic department and the Ministry of Electricity and Water in requiring expats to pay their telecommunications bills in full before they can be allowed to travel out of the country. The ministry is also discussing with other ministries and government departments to implement the same measure.

MP Hasan Jowhar has sent a question to the foreign minister about a ruling by Iraq's top court nullifying a maritime agreement between Iraq and Kuwait. The ruling has raised concerns about the potential for tensions between the two countries.
