Kuwait Hires a Record Number of its Citizens as Prosecutors

Kuwait has appointed 105 citizens as prosecutors, which is a record number of Kuwaiti citizens being hired in this sector of the country. 

Kuwait’s Attorney General Saad Al Safran said "This comes in response to the political leadership’s directives for the Kuwaitisation of the judiciary according to definite plans and a clear methodology."

The approved applicants include 16 women who will receive training from the Kuwait Institute for Judicial Studies before starting their job. 

In recent years, Kuwait’s Higher Council of Judiciary has been working to increase the number of Kuwaiti law graduates in prosecutor positions.

This move is part of the country's Kuwaitisation strategy to replace foreign staff with Kuwaiti citizens. 

The country has also made efforts to create jobs for its citizens.
