Government Moves Swiftly to Secure Essentials

The Ministry of Social, Family and Childhood Affairs held an urgent meeting to assess Kuwait’s strategic stockpile of essential goods. Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah emphasized strengthening coordination and proactive planning across sectors. The Union of Cooperative Societies also issued a circular instructing all cooperatives to boost supply readiness and report any disruptions immediately.

In parallel, the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) confirmed that all systems are operating smoothly, and emergency measures are in place to manage potential food or agricultural disruptions.

Food Safety and Telecoms on High Alert

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) reassured the public that strict monitoring is in place around the clock at borders and within local markets to ensure food safety.

On the digital front, Kuwait’s Ministry of Communications and major telecom operators like Zain, Ooredoo, stc, and Virgin Mobile convened to ensure telecom infrastructure can withstand emergencies. Alternative internet routes and local internet exchange points are being activated as part of contingency plans.

Supreme Defense Council Steps In

The Supreme Defense Council, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah, confirmed that all authorities remain fully functional and committed to maintaining security. Emergency planning and risk assessments are being continuously updated in response to the regional conflict.

Diplomatic Channels Remain Open

Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya engaged with UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nahyan and GCC Secretary General Jasem Al-Budaiwi to coordinate diplomatic efforts in response to Israeli strikes on Iran. Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and security.

No Travel Warning Yet, But Caution Urged

The British Embassy clarified there is no formal travel warning for Kuwait, though it advised British nationals to stay alert due to the potential for sudden escalation. It emphasized that no trip is guaranteed to be fully safe given the current instability in the region.

Iran Warns Against Gulf Escalation
