PAM Proposes Transfer of Residency for Expats Without Sponsor Approval

Kuwait's Public Manpower Authority (PAM) has proposed allowing expatriate workers to transfer their residencies without the approval of the original sponsor in case of contract violations with the original sponsor.

Some sources have reported cases of contract violations, which has led to the development of this proposal.

This proposal was made to eliminate labor shortages without compromising workers' rights.

The proposal was also put forward to prevent the human trafficking of expat workers in Kuwait

Other New Regulations for Employees in Kuwait

Kuwait recently allowed private sector employees to pursue part-time employment and employees can also do remote work.

In December 2023, Kuwait also allowed public sector employees to transfer to the private sector under certain conditions.
