PAM Plans to Allow Transfer of Expat Employees from Closed Companies

The Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) is developing a plan that will allow expatriate employees under companies, whose files are closed, to transfer their residency to other companies.

The authority has taken this decision considering the humanitarian conditions of expat employees. The condition is that their files must be cleared of workers by July 2023.

The transfer of these expat employees will only be allowed to other companies that have valid files. This transfer will only be allowed if more than 12 months have passed since their work permit was issued by the closed company.

If employees are working with companies holding licenses for small or medium enterprises, then these employees can only transfer to another company after a minimum of 3 years have passed after the issuance of their work permit.
