Shops and Eateries in Kuwait Joined Strike in Solidarity With Gaza

Restaurants, shops, and embassies in Kuwait joined the global strike on Monday, Dec. 11 in support of Gaza

Palestinian activists and social media influencers called for a global strike in all aspects of public life on Dec. 11 in solidarity with the Palestinians suffering in the ongoing conflict in Gaza

The strike was called for to pressure governments around the world to take serious action for a ceasefire in Gaza after the US vetoed the motion for a ceasefire at the UN Security Council.

The hashtag #strikeforgaza started trending on social media, encouraging people to participate in the strike.

The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces had called for a strike across the West Bank and the world, therefore various shops, schools, and government offices were shut down in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Various individuals in Kuwait participated in the strike by not going to work on Monday and one of Kuwait's libraries also remained closed yesterday to support Gaza.

These institutions and individuals in Kuwait who participated in the strike believed the disruption in economic activity would pressure governments to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
