Kuwait to Offer Free Cancer Care for Children Regardless of Residency

Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health in Kuwait, has introduced a significant measure granting fee exemptions for health services catering to children battling cancer, regardless of their nationality.

In a compassionate move aimed at supporting young cancer patients, the exemption encompasses all health services provided by the Ministry across hospitals and specialized medical centers dedicated to cancer treatment and follow-up care.

Criteria for Exemption

For non-Kuwaiti children, availing of this exemption requires the initial diagnosis to be conducted within Kuwait, and the child must possess valid residency status. The exemption applies to children diagnosed with cancer at an age not exceeding 16 years, and it extends until the child reaches 18 years of age.

This initiative stands as a support for families facing the emotional and financial burdens of pediatric cancer treatment, providing essential assistance during these challenging times.
