India Launches E-Visa for Kuwait with 5-Year Tourist Option

Starting Monday, July 14, 2025, Kuwaiti citizens can now apply for Indian e-visas online, with no more visits to visa centers. It’s a big win for travelers—and a nod to the strong ties between the two countries.

Fully online visa process

Everything—application, document upload, and payment—can now be done online.
Kuwaitis can apply under five visa categories:

  • Tourism

  • Business

  • Medical

  • Conference

  • AYUSH (alternative medicine like yoga & Ayurveda)

Biometric data will be collected on arrival at Indian airports.

Fast processing, long validity

Most e-visas will be processed within 3–4 days, and tourist visas are valid for up to 5 years.
Here’s the cost breakdown:

  • Tourist visa: $80

  • Other categories: $40–$80

Why this matters

India’s ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Adarsh Swaika, called it a “qualitative shift” in bilateral engagement. It's part of India’s broader move to modernize consular services and deepen ties with the Gulf.
