Kuwait Intercepts Drones, Missiles

Kuwait’s Armed Forces have announced that they are actively intercepting incoming missiles and drones detected over Kuwaiti airspace, as regional tensions continue to escalate, according to a statement released on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

In an official press release, the General Staff of the Kuwait Army confirmed that military units are carrying out their duties to counter and neutralise the threats, working around the clock to protect the country’s territory, airspace and population.

The statement underlined that forces remain fully prepared to confront all developments, maintain operational readiness, and ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents throughout the Gulf state.

The interception efforts come amid a broader pattern of missile and drone strikes across the region linked to the ongoing conflict between Iran and coalition forces. Kuwaiti defence officials earlier reported that significant numbers of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles had been detected and engaged since the start of hostilities.

Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, emphasised that military personnel are operating at the highest level of alert and that the armed forces are employing all available capabilities to respond effectively to aerial threats.

Though debris from intercepted projectiles has fallen in scattered areas, authorities have not reported any major casualties or widespread damage directly tied to the latest interceptions. Residents have been urged to follow official guidance and seek updates from government sources as the situation develops.
