Expats in Kuwait Can Now Visit Armenia Visa-Free July 1

Starting July 1, 2025, expats and citizens living in Kuwait, and all other GCC countries, can now travel to Armenia without a visa. The new visa exemption allows travelers to stay in Armenia for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, making it easier than ever to plan a quick getaway or extended vacation.

The visa-free entry applies to all nationals and legal residents of the GCC, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait. As long as you hold a valid GCC residency permit, you’re eligible for entry, no matter your original nationality.

This decision is part of Armenia’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with the Gulf region and attract more tourists, investors, and business partnerships. While Armenia had previously granted visa waivers to UAE citizens in 2017, Qatar in 2019, and Kuwait in 2022, this is the first time the country is extending visa-free access to all GCC citizens and residents under a single framework.

With its cooler summer climate, scenic landscapes, and growing number of direct flights from Gulf cities, Armenia is positioning itself as a new favorite for weekend escapes, family vacations, and cultural experiences. The move is also expected to appeal to many GCC-based expats from South Asia and the Levant, looking for affordable, visa-hassle-free travel options.

Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that while e-visa and consular services will remain available for travelers outside this agreement, the unified GCC exemption reflects a new chapter in regional openness and economic diplomacy.

So if you’re based in Kuwait or anywhere else in the GCC, now’s the perfect time to add Armenia to your travel list, no visa required.
