Teen Driver Identified in Rudy Giuliani Car Crash That Left Former NYC Mayor Seriously Injured

The driver who rear-ended the vehicle carrying former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a New Hampshire highway crash has been identified as 19-year-old Lauren Kemp of Concord. The accident, which occurred on Saturday evening, left Giuliani with multiple injuries including a fractured vertebra, lacerations, and bruises. Kemp and Giuliani’s spokesperson were also treated for minor injuries.

Details of the Crash and Giuliani’s Condition

The collision took place around 10 p.m. on Interstate 93 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Giuliani was a passenger in a Ford Bronco driven by his spokesman, Ted Goodman. Kemp’s Honda HR rear-ended the vehicle at high speed, forcing both cars into the median, causing significant damage.

Giuliani suffered a fractured thoracic vertebrae, several cuts, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. Despite the serious nature of these injuries, his spokesperson reported that Giuliani remained in good spirits and was expected to be discharged from the hospital later in the week.

Giuliani Responds to Incident with Gratitude

Rudy Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, shared a message of thanks to the public for the outpouring of support since news of the crash broke. Calling his father “the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen,” Andrew expressed relief at his father’s condition and praised the emergency responders.

Giuliani himself was said to have recently assisted a woman who had experienced domestic violence prior to the crash, showing concern and quick action before the accident. His security chief emphasized that the crash was random and not a targeted attack.

Investigation Underway, No Charges Yet

New Hampshire State Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time as authorities continue to gather details about the circumstances that led to the crash. Both drivers were evaluated, and responses from local law enforcement and Giuliani’s team suggest the incident was accidental.

Authorities have not yet clarified whether weather, distraction, or other factors contributed, and the investigation remains active.

Rudy Giuliani’s Public Legacy and Future

Rudy Giuliani, 81, is famously known as “America’s Mayor” for his leadership following the 9/11 attacks. As he heals from the injuries sustained, Giuliani’s spokesperson expressed his eagerness to return to his work and his enduring commitment to public service.
