The Embassy of the United States in Kuwait has announced the temporary suspension of all consular services, confirming that the embassy is closed until further notice.
In an official statement, the embassy said that all routine and emergency consular appointments have been cancelled. “We will communicate when the embassy returns to normal operations,” the statement read, adding that the public will be informed once services resume.
The move affects visa processing, passport services, notarial services and other consular assistance typically provided to US citizens and residents in Kuwait. Individuals with scheduled appointments have been advised to await further updates from the embassy.
The closure comes shortly after the Embassy of the United States in Riyadh was reportedly attacked earlier today, prompting heightened security measures at US diplomatic missions across the region.
