The Ministry of Defence of Kuwait has confirmed that two northern land border posts were targeted in an attack involving explosive-laden drones. The drones, guided by fibre-optic wires, were launched from Iraq, causing material damage but resulting in no casualties.
Colonel Saud Al Atwan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, stated that relevant authorities immediately initiated the necessary measures to address the incident. The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported his statement.
In response to the attack, Iraq's prime minister ordered the formation of an investigative committee to examine the incident and identify those responsible. Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari reiterated Iraq's condemnation of the attack during a call with his Kuwaiti counterpart.
