Two power and water distillation plants in Kuwait were hit in a drone attack early Sunday, causing significant damage and forcing the shutdown of key generating units.
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the facilities were targeted by a hostile Iranian drone strike in the early hours of the day.
Despite the scale of the damage, no casualties were reported, according to ministry spokesperson Fatima Jawhar Hayat.
Emergency protocols were immediately activated, with technical teams deployed to stabilise electricity and water services and minimise disruption.
Officials said efforts are ongoing around the clock to ensure continuity of supply, stressing that maintaining essential utilities remains a top priority.
The incident highlights growing concerns over the security of vital infrastructure as regional tensions continue to escalate.
