Kuwait Warns of Hazardous Weather Until Saturday

Kuwait’s Meteorology Department has issued a warning about ongoing unstable weather conditions expected to last until Saturday evening. The country is currently facing strong winds, poor visibility, and dangerous sea conditions.

Wind speeds expected to reach 60 km/h

Dharar Al Ali, Acting Director at the Meteorology Department, said northwesterly winds began hitting western Kuwait on Monday, kicking up dust and reducing visibility. Wind speeds are expected to go beyond 60 km/h, with visibility likely dropping to under 1,000 meters in open areas.

“These weather conditions will continue off and on across different parts of the country in the coming days,” Al Ali stated.

Sea waves could rise over 7 feet

The strong winds are also affecting sea conditions, with wave heights expected to go over seven feet. Officials are urging seafarers and beachgoers to stay away from coastal areas and avoid heading out to sea during this period.

Drivers and residents advised to take caution

Motorists are being told to drive carefully, especially on highways where visibility may suddenly drop due to dust. The public is encouraged to keep checking updates from the Meteorology Department through its official website, mobile app, and social media platforms.
