Kuwait Takes Legal Action Against Tweeter for Insulting Saudi

Legal action has been taken by Kuwaiti security authorities against a tweeter who is being investigated for allegedly using social media to insult Saudi Arabia.

The General Directorate of Security Relations and Media at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated that it does not tolerate abuse and will deal strongly with anyone attempting to damage the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, in a press release issued on Saturday.

Regarding what was circulated on some social media sites by a tweeter who insulted one of the symbols of Saudi Arabia, the directorate stated that the incident was referred to the competent authority to take all necessary legal measures against the accused.

In the statement, it was made clear that the ministry would not tolerate verbal or physical abuse and would act harshly with anyone who offended through social media or other channels.
