 History of Kuwait National Day 

On 19 June 1961, Kuwait became independent with the end of the British protectorate. Accordingly, Kuwait National Day was celebrated on 19 June 1962 for the first time, but due to the high heat during June in Kuwait, and in 1963 the government decided to celebrate it on 25 February every year instead of 19 June, along with the day when Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah ascended to the throne in 1950.
