The United States has temporarily suspended operations at its embassy in Kuwait City, the US Department of State confirmed on Thursday. The move comes amid heightened tensions following US and Israeli strikes against Iran.
Safety First for Embassy Staff
Officials said there have been no reported injuries to US personnel. The State Department emphasized that the decision is part of its commitment to keeping Americans abroad safe.
“Safety of Americans abroad remains our highest priority,” the statement said.
What This Means for Visitors
While embassy operations are on pause, all consular services and visa processing are temporarily suspended. Travelers and American residents in Kuwait are advised to follow official embassy updates and avoid unnecessary trips to the embassy until further notice.
The State Department continues to monitor the situation closely and will resume normal operations once conditions are deemed safe.
