Egypt has strongly condemned the recent attacks affecting Kuwait, Bahrain, and other Gulf nations. This official stance follows statements issued by Cairo on Tuesday regarding separate incidents involving Saudi and Qatari tankers in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these actions violated international law, infringed on the sovereignty of Arab Gulf states, and posed a direct threat to regional security and international maritime navigation.

The ministry highlighted that the repeated incidents involving Kuwait and Bahrain represent a blatant violation of their sovereignty and a serious threat to the peace and stability of the Arabian Gulf region.

It added that the attacks represented an unacceptable escalation that could further increase tensions in the region.

Egypt reaffirmed its complete rejection of any actions that undermine the security and sovereignty of sisterly Arab nations. Cairo also renewed its call for restraint and immediate de-escalation to safeguard regional peace and stability.

Expressing deep solidarity, Egypt emphasized its commitment to standing alongside Kuwait and Bahrain in confronting any threat to their security.

The ministry stated that Egypt sees no justification for these actions targeting Gulf states, emphasizing that the security of the Gulf is an integral part of Egypt's own national security and cannot be compromised.

Earlier, Egypt condemned the targeting of a Saudi tanker and a Qatari gas vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry noted that targeting the Saudi tanker violated international law and threatened the safety of navigation, while the incident involving the Qatari gas tanker posed serious risks to global energy supplies.

Cairo expressed full support for Saudi Arabia and Qatar, calling for an immediate halt to all actions that could escalate regional tensions.

The situation comes amid rising security risks around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy chokepoint linking Gulf oil and gas producers to global markets.

Reports indicated that a Qatari LNG tanker faced safety risks and a Saudi crude tanker was damaged near the strait, prompting maritime authorities to raise the threat level for vessels transiting the waterway.

The US Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Centre (JMIC) confirmed that the threat level in the Strait of Hormuz has been raised to "SEVERE" following three incidents reported on 7 July, warning that further hostile actions remain likely under current conditions.
