Kuwait Mourns Veteran Singer Abdul Karim Abdul Qader

Renowned Kuwaiti singer Abdul Karim Abdul Qader was laid to rest at Sulaibikhat cemetery on Saturday, May 13th.

A large crowd of colleagues, friends, and relatives of Abdul Qader were present at the mourners' hall at the cemetery.

"The artistic scene has lost a great artiste and one of the pillars of Kuwaiti singing, whom we loved as a human being and an artiste. He was a dear friend and companion," veteran singer Nabil Shuail said.

"Today we can only pray to God to have mercy on him and to dwell in His spacious paradise," he added.

Abdulqader passed away on Friday evening at the age of 82 after a battle with illness.

He passed away at Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah Hospital, leaving a rich legacy of works, which abound in the Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab musical heritage.

Abdul Qader's artistic journey extended to about 60 years.
