Nour Al Ghandhoor Stars in Netflix's New Arabic Rom-Com 'Love in Slow Motion'

Netflix has unveiled the first look at its upcoming Arabic romantic comedy, Love in Slow Motion, set to premiere globally on July 23, 2026. The film places Kuwaiti actress Nour Al Ghandoor at the center of a modern narrative exploring friendship, timing, and the complex blur between platonic bonds and romance.

In the film, Al Ghandoor portrays Haya, a young woman navigating the delicate balance between relationship pressures, family expectations, and personal growth. For years, Haya has kept her closest friend, Jawad (played by Ali Kakooli), firmly in the "friend zone." However, as life takes an unexpected turn, she is forced to confront emotions she never anticipated, questioning everything she thought she knew about love.

The story delves into a relatable dilemma: what happens when the person who has always been there suddenly becomes impossible to ignore? Blending humor with emotional honesty, the movie examines how timing shapes relationships and suggests that the right partner might have been hiding in plain sight all along.

A Star-Studded Cast and Debut Roles

This project marks another significant milestone for Al Ghandoor, who has established herself as one of the Gulf region's most recognizable screen talents known for portraying complex female characters with authenticity. She leads an ensemble cast that includes Ali Kakooli, Fatima Alshereef, and Shoug AlHadi.

Adding to the buzz is the acting debut of social media personality and entrepreneur Noha Nabil, who joins the cast as Zeina. Her transition from digital platforms to the big screen is expected to draw additional attention from audiences eager to see her performance.

Production and Global Reach

Produced by Jamal Sannan and Eagle Films, and directed by Elie El Semaan with a screenplay by Eyad Saleh, Love in Slow Motion continues a successful collaboration between Eagle Films and Netflix in the Arabic romantic comedy genre. This partnership has been instrumental in expanding the reach of regionally produced stories, bringing authentic local narratives to a worldwide streaming audience.

Set to release on July 23, 2026, the film promises a fresh take on the classic "friends-to-lovers" trope, anchored by Al Ghandoor's warm and compelling performance. It serves as a reminder that love does not always arrive on schedule, and sometimes the most meaningful connections develop slowly over time.
