Kuwait Detects EG.5 COVID Variant

According to Kuwait's Ministry of Health, the EG.5 COVID variant which belonged to a subset of the virus has been detected, the Ministry announced.

A health official cited by Kuwait's news agency KUNA stated that the identification of the variant was expected and was not a cause for alarm as the variant has already been detected in around 50 countries.

The statement also added that the country's epidemiological indicators show stability and steadiness.

The ministry advised people to continue to adhere to prevention guidelines, such as wearing face masks, social distancing, and getting the vaccines.
