Kuwait’s Amir Sends Condolences to the US After Plane Crash

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a condolence message to President Trump, expressing Kuwait’s deep sympathy for the victims of the Washington crash.

The US witnessed its second major aviation disaster this week as a medical jet carrying six Mexican nationals crashed into a Philadelphia neighborhood on Friday. The accident follows a deadly midair collision in Washington earlier this week, raising fresh concerns about air safety.

Fiery Crash in Philadelphia

The Learjet 55, an American-French business jet, took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Branson, Missouri, before plummeting into a residential area near Roosevelt Mall just after 6:00 p.m. Video footage showed the aircraft descending sharply before erupting into a fireball.

Among the victims was a young girl who had been receiving medical care in the US, along with her mother and members of the flight and medical crews. Shriners Children’s Philadelphia confirmed the child was being transported back to Mexico via a contracted air ambulance when the tragedy occurred.

The Mexican Foreign Ministry verified that all six individuals on board were Mexican citizens. Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the aircraft’s operator, stated that there were no confirmed survivors.

Washington Midair Collision

Meanwhile, investigators are still piecing together details of another catastrophic accident earlier this week. A passenger jet operated by an American Airlines subsidiary collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport in Washington, killing at least 41 people.

Divers continue to search the frigid Potomac River for missing victims, while officials have recovered black boxes from both aircraft. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are leading investigations into both crashes.

Global Reactions and Investigations

US President Donald Trump expressed condolences for both tragedies, calling the Philadelphia crash “heartbreaking” and praising first responders. However, his remarks about the Washington collision stirred controversy, with aviation experts dismissing his claims that military night-vision goggles or air traffic control staffing played a role.

With two major incidents in such a short time, aviation safety officials are under pressure to determine the causes and prevent future tragedies.

As investigations continue, the US aviation industry faces tough questions about safety protocols, air traffic management, and potential regulatory gaps that may have contributed to these back-to-back disasters.
