Demis Roussos' Rare Louis Vuitton Luggage to Be Auctioned

Two pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage that belonged to the late Greek singer Demis Roussos and his wife Pamela Roussos are set to go under the hammer, carrying with them an incredible story tied to the infamous hijacking of TWA Flight 847 in 1985.

The luxury items—a Louis Vuitton Monogram Boîte à Pharmacie vanity case and a Monogram Alzer 80 suitcase—survived the 17-day ordeal when the flight, traveling from Athens to Rome, was seized by terrorists. Roussos was among the passengers, along with Pamela. The pair were held for five days before being released.

Remarkably, the luggage Roussos bought as gifts for his wife remained intact. Both pieces were later restored at Louis Vuitton in Paris during the 1990s and have been carefully preserved by Pamela Roussos. Speaking about the items, she said: "Demis chose the Louis Vuitton cases in Paris as a gift for me and they were always a pleasure to travel with. They were beautifully made and incredibly practical, even after everything they went through, they remained remarkably intact."

The vanity case, crafted in Louis Vuitton’s iconic coated canvas, comes fitted with adjustable bottle holders and a removable compartment. Monogrammed with “P.R.” for Pamela Ratiu (formerly Pamela Roussos), it is expected to sell for £1,200–£1,800. The matching suitcase, built for durable long-haul travel, has an estimate of £800–£1,200.

The luggage will be offered at Elmwood’s Designer Handbags & Accessories auction on April 23, 2026.
