The archaeologists and genetic researchers were also taken aback after studying the ancient mummies that were approximately dated to be 7,000 years. The findings when scientists started to examine preserved tissue samples were rather surprising. Early genetic testing indicated abnormalities in DNA patterns which were not similar to the existing human patterns. The finding immediately caused controversy among scholars, historians and the general population. Although there are certain theories going around the internet that suggest that the mummies are not human, scientific experts highlight that ancient DNA can be destroyed or corrupted due to the passage of thousands of years. The discovery has, nonetheless, caused researchers to examine the remains more thoroughly in order to know their actual origin and historical value.
