Kuwait's General Department for Narcotics Control has successfully arrested a criminal gang of eight individuals while attempting to smuggle a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics into the country, using sea routes.

The illegal narcotics' quantity included about 140 kilograms of narcotic hashish and 50,000 Captagon pills.

The gand included one Kuwaiti citizen and five individuals of Asian nationality, and two Bedouns. 

At first, two individuals were planning to smuggle narcotics into the country via sea routes, and they were apprehended and admitted to carrying five bags containing about 120 kilograms of hashish and 50,000 Captagon tablets.

In addition, authorities received information that a narcotics-laden vessel was soon to arrive. Then four individuals of Asian nationality were apprehended, all of whom were involved in concealing roughly 20 kilograms of narcotic hashish.

It was discovered that the recipients of the cargo were two illegal residents, who were also found in possession of 30 grams of narcotics.

The Criminal Security Sector has recently made significant progress in combating criminal activities related to narcotics, smuggling, and trafficking.

The accused individuals have been referred to the relevant authorities, and action will be taken against them.
