Health Ministry imposes penalties on doctors for violations

The Ministry of Health has announced that special technical committees found a consultant in internal medicine guilty of several professional violations in his role as the license holder and medical director of a private healthcare facility. In a press statement, the ministry said the doctor received three penalties, including fines of KD 4,000 and KD 3,000, as well as a three-month suspension from medical practice.
The ministry added that, based on a technical committee report, a consultant ophthalmologist working at a private medical center was also found guilty of medical malpractice and professional violations. His medical license has been suspended for one year.
The ministry said it remains committed to strict oversight of public and private healthcare facilities and will take legal action against anyone who breaks professional rules. It stressed that there will be no leniency when it comes to patient safety, healthcare quality, and compliance with medical regulations.
The ministry also said Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi has directed that all necessary legal measures continue in cases involving medical errors and professional violations at private hospitals, clinics, and health centers. These actions are based on inspection results and reports issued by specialized technical committees.
The ministry said these measures show its commitment to enforcing the law and protecting patients’ rights and safety. It added that all decisions are based on investigation findings, technical committee reports, and the approved legal and procedural framework.
