The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has issued a strong reminder to drivers about the legal consequences of parking in spaces reserved for individuals with disabilities. This announcement, shared on the ministry's official account on X (formerly Twitter), highlights the importance of respecting accessibility rights and following the law.
Penalties for Violations
The ministry referred to Article 63 of Law No. 8 of 2010, which outlines strict penalties for unauthorized use of disability parking spaces. Violators could face imprisonment for up to one month, a fine of up to KD 100, or both.
The reminder aims to raise awareness about the importance of these designated spaces for people with disabilities and the necessity of keeping them accessible at all times.
This initiative aligns with Kuwait’s broader commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible society for all its residents.
