This is all science fiction, and scientists take it seriously by observing the sky and conducting space research in order to find out if there are Type II civilizations. A Type II civilization, on the Kardashev Scale, would be advanced enough to tap into the energy of its own star. In recent years, peculiar cosmic phenomena and bizarre energy patterns have raised the question of whether signs of highly sophisticated alien construction might have been observed by humankind.
