James Webb Telescope Observes a Supermassive Black Hole in the Act of Feeding

Astronomers, with NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, have managed to catch something incredible, a supermassive black hole actively gobbling up nearby material. Webb, by pushing through that messy cosmic dust, using infrared instruments that are very advanced, showed how gas slips inward, toward a spinning central disk. This big find gives more solid hints about how black holes and galaxies grow, at the same time, across long stretches of cosmic history.
