Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower has announced the end of the ban on working in open areas, under Ministerial Resolution No. 3 of 2006, which regulates work in exposed places during restricted hours and difficult weather conditions.
The authority said employers must still provide a safe workplace and suitable conditions to protect workers’ health and safety.
In a statement, PAM said it will continue to monitor compliance with occupational health and safety rules and take action against any employer who breaks the law.
The seasonal ban started on June 1 and stayed in place until August 31. It limited outdoor work during the hottest hours of the day.
The rule is meant to reduce the risks linked to Kuwait’s extreme summer heat and direct sun exposure, while helping ensure safer working conditions for workers in open areas.
