The organisers of WE Design Beirut have unveiled early details for the event’s third edition, scheduled to take place in May 2027, marking another chapter in the Lebanese capital’s growing creative movement.
Unlike typical design weeks focused solely on exhibitions, WE Design Beirut has evolved into a community-led platform that connects established designers, emerging talents, artisans, educators and creative thinkers across disciplines. Encouraging collaboration and exchange beyond the event’s timeframe, the platform aims to strengthen the fabric of Beirut’s design ecosystem.
Since its launch, the initiative has expanded from a five-day program into a more enduring creative forum, blending traditional exhibitions with dynamic experiences that invite participation from a broad spectrum of contributors.
Organisers have announced plans for an open call for participation, expected to launch in April 2026, offering designers, craftsmen, students and cultural practitioners opportunities to take part in exhibitions, open studios, workshops, panel talks and independent showcases.
Founded by Mariana Wehbe, WE Design Beirut champions a philosophy that embraces creative fluidity, where the boundaries between design, craft, performance and community engagement are intentionally blurred. Wehbe emphasises that the platform is rooted in learning, experimentation and dialogue among all sectors of the creative field.
The third edition is expected to build on the momentum of previous years by fostering meaningful connections and helping to elevate Beirut’s designers onto a wider cultural stage. By bringing together voices at different stages of their careers and from various backgrounds, WE Design Beirut continues to expand its role as a catalyst for innovation and cultural expression in the Middle East’s design landscape.
