The Jahra Nature Reserve to Open on This Date

Kuwait’s renowned Jahra Nature Reserve is set to reopen to the public on Sunday, November 9, 2025, marking the beginning of its new winter season.

The reserve, which plays a vital role in Kuwait’s environmental conservation efforts, will remain open until February 17, 2026, according to an announcement shared by local environmental authorities.

Located west of Kuwait City, the Jahra Nature Reserve is one of the country’s premier eco-tourism destinations. It serves as a protected habitat for hundreds of bird species, particularly migratory ones that pass through Kuwait during the cooler months.

Bookings Now Open via Sahel App and EPA Website

Visitors can now book their tours through the Sahel App or via the official Environment Public Authority (EPA) website. To maintain environmental balance and safety, entry is strictly controlled, and all visits are guided.

Each guided visit lasts approximately 90 minutes, during which visitors are escorted to one of several designated observation outposts. The entry fee is KD 10 per group of up to five people, with adjusted rates for larger groups.

Authorities have emphasized that visitors must adhere to the site’s environmental regulations, which include staying within designated zones and refraining from disturbing wildlife.

A Haven for Wildlife and Eco-Tourism

The Jahra Nature Reserve, Kuwait’s first eco-tourism project, has long been a favorite destination for nature lovers, bird-watchers, and photographers. Spanning vast wetlands, the reserve provides a haven for rare and migratory birds, making it a key component of Kuwait’s biodiversity preservation efforts.

Environmental experts have lauded the reopening as a significant move in encouraging public engagement with conservation initiatives while maintaining responsible access to natural habitats.

Visitors Encouraged to Plan Ahead

Given the limited daily visitor slots, the Environment Public Authority urges the public to book early to secure their preferred time slots. Early-season visits in November are particularly recommended, as the weather is mild and bird activity is at its peak.
