What is most enigmatic-that the universe is expanding at a certain speed, and scientists for years have been trying to determine exactly how that speed is changing. Ever since the discovery of the expansion of galaxies astronomers have tried their best to estimate the rate at which the galaxies expand, called the Hubble Constant. There are a number of ways – but none without variation – the “Hubble tension.” New, state-of-the-art space observations and recent studies shed new light on a cosmic enigma. Finding the universe expanding could offer vital clues on the nature of dark energy, the age of the universe and the fate of the universe.
