Kuwait's Ministry of Health (MoH) bans private pharmacies and hospitals from the distribution and selling of the medicines Gabapentin and Pregabalin.

Kuwait's health minister Ahmad Al-Awadhi has implemented the ban because of the recent surge in the prescriptions and sales of these two neurological drugs.

The new regulations also prohibit the distribution of these medications to government hospitals and pharmacies.

The decision was implemented by the health ministry as part of its current efforts to inhibit the misuse of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
