Football fever is about to hit Kuwait! The French Super Cup (Trophée des Champions) will be played in the country for the first time ever, featuring Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique de Marseille on January 8, 2026.

The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) confirmed that President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah signed the official deal with Ligue 1 to make it happen at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium — one of Kuwait’s biggest sporting arenas.

Big Match, Bigger Stage

This marks the second straight year the French Super Cup will take place outside France, following last year’s edition in Qatar. PSG, the reigning champs, have lifted the trophy 13 times, while Marseille have claimed it three times, last winning in 2011.

With two of France’s fiercest rivals meeting on Gulf soil, it’s shaping up to be one of the region’s biggest football nights of 2026.
