Kuwait has banned the export of all food products through its land, sea, and air ports in a move aimed at protecting domestic supply and keeping the local market stable during ongoing regional tensions.

The directive was issued by the country’s General Administration of Customs following Ministerial Decision No. (20) of 2026 from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The order instructs officials across all border points to stop the export of food commodities in any form.

Food Exports Halted Across All Ports

According to authorities, the decision has been circulated to all customs departments, with strict instructions to enforce the ban immediately.

Officials said the move is part of precautionary measures to ensure enough food remains available in the local market, especially as developments across the region continue to evolve.

Customs officers at land crossings, airports, and seaports have been told to block any attempts to export food products, with legal action expected against violators.

Radiation Monitoring Systems Operating Normally

At the same time, Kuwait’s customs authority said its radiation monitoring systems are operating normally across all ports. These systems inspect goods, containers, and vehicles entering and leaving the country.

Officials confirmed that no abnormal radiation readings have been detected, and all monitoring indicators remain within safe levels.

The inspection systems are running 24/7 in coordination with other authorities, as part of a wider effort to strengthen security and oversight at border points.

Authorities Stress Market Stability

The customs authority said the export ban is designed to protect national food security and maintain stable supplies for residents.

Officials also reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing government decisions and safeguarding the country’s security during the current regional situation.
