The Musaharati or (Ramadan Drummer) is the person who walks the streets of residential areas during the nights of Ramadan while beating a drum to wake people up to eat their Sohor (a meal eaten before during night to help people fast on a given day) before the call of Dawn Prayer (Adhan Al Fajr).
It is one of the oldest jobs in Islam and sometimes it is called “the job of 30 days” as it only lasts during the 30 days of Ramadan.
