Kuwait Announces Power Cuts in Industrial and Agricultural Zones Amid Record-Breaking Summer Heat

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said on Monday, June 16, that they will cut electricity in some agricultural and industrial areas because of the increasing demand for power during the summer season.
The areas that will be affected by this cut are Mina Abdullah, Sabhan, Sulaibiya, Rai, Shuweikh, Rawdatain, Wafra and Abdali.
The country recently topped the chart for the world's hottest locations at 50.1ºC at Kuwait International Airport.
Last week, the Kuwait Meteorological Department predicted that temperatures in the country would reach 52ºC by Monday, June 16. These soaring temperatures have led the electricity ministry to make these power cuts.
Recently, veteran meteorologist Fahad Al-Otaibi, said that humidity in Kuwait was expected to increase to over 90 percent.
