SYNC.NGO today announced that SYNC 26 Spring will be delivered as a global conference on April 11, 2026, running from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Syria time). While globally connected, the event will activate in-person gatherings across more than 30 cities worldwide, spanning five continents — from the Middle East and Europe to North America and Asia.
At the same time, 17 access centres across Syria will host local technologists on the ground, ensuring direct participation inside the country.
This hybrid global model makes SYNC 26 Spring the most expansive gathering of Syrian technologists ever convened — and a powerful demonstration of what the Syrian diaspora and technologists inside Syria have built in the face of extraordinary adversity.
Built by a Diaspora of Technologists. For a Generation of Technologists.
The Syrian diaspora is one of the most widely dispersed in the world. Over the past decade, Syrian technologists have established themselves in Berlin, London, Dubai, Istanbul, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Amsterdam, Beirut, Cairo, and dozens of cities beyond — building careers, founding companies, and contributing to some of the world’s most dynamic technology ecosystems.
Through it all, the connection between Syrian technologists globally and Syrian technologists inside Syria has remained strong.
SYNC was founded precisely to honour and harness that connection — creating a platform where knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity flow between technologists in Syria and technologists worldwide.
Bassel Yassine Ojjeh, Chairman of SYNC.NGO, commented:
"What SYNC 26 Spring represents goes far beyond a conference. It is a reflection of the Syrian story — of a people who, no matter where circumstance has taken them, have refused to be disconnected from one another or from their ambitions." He continued: “On April 11, experienced Syrian technologists from across the world will sit alongside young technologists in Damascus, Aleppo, and Latakia — not just virtually, but through coordinated hubs — sharing everything they have learned.”
Expanding on this, Lama Sawan, Executive Director, noted that the significance of SYNC lies in its real-world impact:
"What makes this moment powerful is not just the scale, but the intent. We are bringing Syrian technologists together, in-person and virtual, inside Syria and across the world — to learn, to connect, and to create opportunities that extend far beyond a single day. This is about building continuity, not just connection."
A Full-Day Program Designed for Real Outcomes
SYNC 26 Spring is structured as a continuous, multi-track program running across twelve hours, with sessions repeated to maximise accessibility across time zones.
The program includes expert-led sessions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, alongside practical workforce readiness workshops and a dedicated “Getting Hired” track covering CV development, LinkedIn optimisation, and interview preparation.
Participants will also benefit from the Employer & Talent Arena, which brings together approximately 30 companies for direct engagement, as well as Mentorship Circles connecting attendees with experienced Syrian technologists worldwide. Dedicated Women in Tech sessions and English communication tracks further ensure inclusivity across all career stages.
More Than 30 Cities. One Community.
On April 11, more than 30 cities worldwide will host in-person satellite gatherings, where Syrian technologists will come together locally to participate, network, and experience the event collectively.
These are not just dial-ins — they are real, on-the-ground communities gathering in real spaces.
Inside Syria, 17 access centres will operate across key cities, providing structured environments with internet access and coordinated participation — ensuring that Syrian technologists inside the country are fully integrated into the global experience.
Reflecting on this model, Amer Doko, Executive Committee Member, emphasized the long-term vision behind SYNC: “SYNC is not just an event — it is the foundation of a unified ecosystem for a community that refuses to remain fragmented. By convening Syrian technologists across cities and borders, we are building enduring pathways for collaboration, unlocking opportunity at scale, and driving meaningful impact. This is how true ecosystems are forged — deliberately, collectively, and with unwavering purpose.”
Looking Ahead
SYNC.NGO confirmed that a fully in-person conference in Syria remains planned for later in 2026, when conditions allow — bringing Syrian technologists together on home ground.
