Kuwait’s National Guard announced that six drones were shot down early on Tuesday, March 10, as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the country’s security and critical infrastructure.

According to an official statement, the drones were intercepted within areas under the responsibility of the National Guard’s task forces in the northern and southern parts of Kuwait.

Brigadier General Dr. Jad’an Fadel Jad’an, spokesperson for the National Guard, said the operation was carried out as part of the force’s continuous mission to enhance security, protect vital installations, and counter potential threats.

He also urged the public to follow all safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities, stressing the importance of cooperation during the current security situation.

The spokesperson noted that the National Guard remains fully prepared to address any challenges, working closely with the Kuwaiti Army, police forces, and the General Fire Force to respond to potential threats.

Officials reaffirmed that the country’s security agencies are committed to confronting any attempts to destabilize Kuwait’s stability, while protecting its sovereignty, national interests, and strategic capabilities.

The interception comes amid heightened regional tensions, with several Gulf states reporting drone and missile activity in recent days.
