Civilian casualties and residential destruction reported as strikes target multiple Iranian cities amid diplomatic tensions.

US-Israeli strikes have been reported across several Iranian cities on Monday morning, April 6, resulting in civilian casualties and significant destruction of residential areas.

In eastern Tehran, at least four people were killed and seven others injured when residential buildings were completely destroyed, according to Mehr news agency. The attack targeted civilian infrastructure in what appears to be a residential neighborhood.

The casualties were not limited to Tehran, as Fars news agency reported that at least 13 people were killed in strikes on Baharestan, citing information from the local governor. These attacks also caused substantial damage to civilian buildings in the area.

Additional strikes were reported in other major Iranian cities, including Isfahan, Shiraz, Qom, and Karaj. The coordinated attacks appear to have targeted multiple locations simultaneously, causing widespread concern among Iranian civilians.

The military action comes after a report by Axios indicated that the US, Iran, and regional mediators were discussing terms for a potential 45-day ceasefire framework. The timing of these strikes raises questions about the commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions between the two nations.
