As peace negotiations loom, president issues stark warning about maintaining lethal military posture in the region.

US President Donald Trump has declared that the US military will maintain its presence "in and around Iran" until a "real agreement is reached" and "fully complied with," threatening further military escalation if upcoming peace talks collapse.

The president issued the stark warning on Truth Social, stating that all US military assets will remain in the region until the terms of any agreement are fully honored. Trump's message comes ahead of critical negotiations scheduled for Saturday morning in Islamabad between US and Iranian officials aimed at securing a lasting end to the recent conflict.

"All US Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal prosecution and destruction of an already substantially degraded Enemy, will remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with," Trump wrote in his characteristic all-caps style.

The president went on to threaten devastating consequences if the peace talks fail, warning that "If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the 'Shootin' Starts,' bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before."

Trump's statement included a concerning boast about US military readiness, claiming that "the US military is Loading Up and Resting, looking forward, actually, to its next Conquest."

The announcement creates significant tension as diplomatic efforts intensify to resolve the conflict that has already caused extensive casualties and displacement across the Middle East. The Islamabad talks represent a crucial opportunity to establish a permanent ceasefire and address the underlying issues that led to the recent war between the United States and Iran.

International observers are closely watching the situation, with concerns mounting that military rhetoric from the US could undermine fragile diplomatic efforts and potentially escalate the conflict further. The threat of renewed hostilities comes as the region continues to grapple with the humanitarian consequences of the recent fighting.
