The whole old story of Earth’s eventual ending,the one with the whole fiery end of the planet, has been shaken up by fresh astrophysical modeling, and not just a little. New simulations suggest (at least in their own framing) that our world might not get fully erased by the dying Sun. Like, billions of years later, Earth could still be here while that Sun is swelling, burning, and generally doing the most. It’s a strangecosmic tug-of-war really, the kind that could rewrite the last scene of our solar system, if we even call it that.
