Kuwait is planning to form a new committee soon to investigate around 130,000 illegal expats in the country, according to a report in the Arab Times, citing an Al Anba story.

The 130,000 expats have violated residency laws, the report added. The majority of offenders were said to be Asians.

The committee will look to reduce the number of violators of residency laws in Kuwait.

However, there are no plans for expats who have violated residency laws to be given a deadline to resolve issues and re-enter the country,  anonymous sources said.

Moreover, security campaigns and ministry efforts to track down violators will continue alongside the committee.
