If you’ve been stressing about visa deadlines, take a breath.

Ministry of Interior Kuwait has announced an automatic one-month extension for visit visas, along with a three-month absence permit for residents currently outside the country.

No applications. No extra steps. It’s automatic.

One-Month Extension for Visit Visas

Visit visas expiring around this period are now extended for one month starting February 28, 2026.

Even better? Fees and fines are waived. So if your visa was about to expire, you’re covered without paying penalties.

Extra 3 Months for Residents Abroad

Residents who are currently outside Kuwait — and may have already exceeded their allowed stay abroad — are also getting relief.

They’re being granted an automatic additional three-month absence permit, meaning they can remain outside the country without facing penalties.

For many families and workers, this move removes a lot of pressure. If you or someone you know is affected, it’s still smart to double-check official records — but for now, the extension is in place.
