Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei dismisses US diplomatic efforts as insincere, confirming Tehran has no intention of attending further talks in Islamabad.

Iran has firmly stated that it has no plans to participate in further negotiations with the United States, citing a lack of seriousness from Washington regarding diplomatic efforts. The announcement came during a media conference today from Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Baghaei reiterated Tehran's stance that there are no arrangements to send representatives to Islamabad for upcoming talks. He accused the United States of breaching a ceasefire, arguing that these actions undermine the possibility of productive dialogue.

"This clear contradiction between words and behaviour exacerbates the Iranian nation's suspicion of US intentions," Baghaei said, highlighting the disconnect between American diplomatic rhetoric and its on-the-ground actions.

Consequently, the spokesperson indicated that Iran will determine the future of any negotiations based solely on what it deems beneficial for the country. "Therefore, Iran will make the appropriate decision regarding the continuation of the negotiations by prioritising national interests and benefits," he stated.

The remarks signal a significant cooling in diplomatic channels between the two nations, with Iran placing the onus on the US to demonstrate genuine commitment before any further engagement is considered.
