Screenless wearable combines advanced biometric data with AI coaching to deliver personalized health guidance and workout recommendations.

Google has unveiled Fitbit Air, a groundbreaking AI-driven wellness and health coaching system designed to rival established players like Whoop in the wearable health technology space. The new platform represents Google's ambitious push into AI-assisted healthcare, integrating advanced biometric tracking with intelligent health recommendations.

Fitbit Air combines comprehensive data from Fitbit wearables, health records, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, activity logs, and recovery metrics to generate personalized health insights. Unlike traditional fitness trackers that focus primarily on activity data, the system functions as an ongoing health assistant that adapts recommendations based on user behavior and long-term trends.

The platform offers extensive continuous health tracking capabilities, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring, heart rhythm tracking with AFib alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring, resting heart rate measurement, and heart rate variability tracking. Users can also benefit from detailed sleep stage and duration tracking, automatic activity detection, and comprehensive workout summaries.

One of Fitbit Air's standout features is its ability to scan surrounding gym equipment and automatically suggest personalized workouts based on available equipment. This AI-driven approach positions the platform as a comprehensive health companion rather than just a data collection device.

"Fitbit Air represents our commitment to moving beyond raw data display toward intelligent health guidance," said Google health executives. "We want this to be accessible to everyone from fitness professionals to individuals simply looking to improve their overall health and wellness."

Designed with practicality in mind, Fitbit Air boasts 7 days of battery life and can be charged in just five minutes. The device features a screenless design and offers seamless switching functionality between the Pixel Watch during daytime activities and the Fitbit Air band during sleeping hours.

The launch comes amid Google's continued integration of Fitbit into the broader Google Health ecosystem, reflecting the company's strategic expansion into AI-powered healthcare solutions. This move positions Google to compete directly with established health tracking platforms while leveraging its AI expertise to deliver more intelligent health insights.

Fitbit Air is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and is currently available for pre-order through the Google Store website for $99. However, the company has noted that direct shipping to certain regions, including the Philippines, is not yet available at this time.

The release of Fitbit Air signals Google's confidence in the growing market for AI-enhanced health and wellness technology, as consumers increasingly seek intelligent, personalized health guidance rather than simple data collection.
