High sensitivity is not a weakness, nor is a trait of personality that is based on a more profound emotional and sensual interpretation. The concept of the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) was proposed by psychologist Elaine Aron who claims that people who feel, think, and see the world more intensively than others. Although this sensitivity has the advantages of sympathy, creativity and good intuition, it also introduces problems that people may not easily comprehend in day to day activities. Between the need to be overstimulated to emotionally exhausted, highly sensitive individuals usually end up moving in the world which seems louder, faster, and harsher. The awareness of these struggles would assist in developing self awareness as well as creating healthier boundaries and compassion not only to oneself, but also to other people.
