Transgender actress and model Gigi Loren was denied entry to the UAE in August 2016 over confusion as her passport photo depicted a man.

In April 2015 British boxer David Haye was stopped at Dubai airport while trying to depart the UAE. He reportedly had his passport confiscated as a complaint by a local developer was issued about him over a bounced cheque.

DJ Esco

DJ Esco was jailed in November 2014 for possession of marijuana. The DJ, who is affiliated with hip-hop star Future, spent 56 nights in jail in Dubai after being stopped with the drug at Dubai International Airport.

Silento

In March 2017 American rapper Silento has been been banned from leaving the UAE after failing to appear at two concerts for which he was contracted.

DJ Aqeel

Composer and Bollywood DJ Aqeel was arrested at Dubai airport in June 2007 for possession of a banned substance. He was released after tests showed he had not used any drugs.
